AMENITIES
We’ve just spent the last two years completely refurbishing this approximately 200-year-old Majorcan farmhouse, Ca’an Soler.
Set on 16 acres and surrounded by its own newly extended gardens, fields and new olive and almond groves, the house at approx 400 m² was virtually a wreck when we found it among the rural farms and fincas of southeast Majorca. We are just over 30 minutes from Palma airport and Palma City with its cafe society vibe.
If you don’t want to drive into Palma our local taxi service will take you or there is a very good local train service from nearby Manacor.
The house has full internet, underfloor heating and air conditioning throughout and two open fires. The original fire oven from the old farmhouse has been preserved and is the centrepiece of the dining room.
THE KITCHEN
The farmhouse has a fully modern, well-equipped kitchen with a gas range, large electric oven, 'American' style fridge, wine fridge, freezer and two dishwashers. The kitchen has been handmade locally.
THE BEDROOMS
The house now boasts 4 bedrooms en suite… one on the ground floor and 3 upstairs.
THE POOL
There is a 12-metre pool with handrails and steps and a new local Santanyi stone surround. The pool is surrounded by an aged topiary with shaded areas.
THE GARDENS
The gardens surrounding the house have been completely replanned, planted and extended. There are new entrance gates and driveway, a pond and lawns. There’s an array of new and existing fruit trees… orange, peach, kumquat, pomegranate and fig. A new Rose Garden has been planted in a former sheep pen. To the rear of the house, there’s the ‘wild garden’ leading to a woodland walk through wild olive and Majorcan pine trees. The contract garden company visits the property once a week. There are covered areas for shade and dining on three sides of the farmhouse.
SHOPPING AND RESTAURANTS
Our nearest supermarket is about 15 minutes drive away in Manacor, although we do have an excellent Spar in the village of Villafranca a short drive away. Our nearest town is Felanitx with its shops, an excellent supermarket and a busy Sunday market. There is also an excellent restaurant.

There’s a village or town market every day in Majorca.
NEARBY BEACHES
There are a number of calas and beaches all about 30 minutes away from the house and the superb ‘Carribbean’ beach Es Trenc is about 40 minutes away.

JUST ONE OTHER THING…
It’s important to say that Ca’an Soler is not just another ‘rental property’… it’s our home and you’ll find it on arrival as we do… all you have to do is shop and settle in. Paula, our Housekeeper will check you in and show you around and 3 hours of her time per week are included to freshen up the house for you. Any additional hours you need you can arrange with her directly.
THE INTERIORS
The interior design of Ca’an Soler has been created by the owners and we have used local builders and artisans. There are fabrics made in Majorca in the town of Santa Maria and Bennison fabrics from Chelsea. There are Indian bedspreads, Frette sheets and art and objects d’art collected by us from around the world over many years. There is art on the walls from most parts of the world… Bali, Zimbabwe, Scotland, Provence, photography from Malta and local artist Carlos Espiro’s city and country ‘scapes from Majorca. There are even a couple of finds from the railings at Hyde Park from the days when some serious artists used to exhibit on a Sunday. Additional ‘Moroccan’ arches and colours have been inspired by Yves Saint Laurent’s homes in Morocco and have been re-created by Moroccan artisans living in Majorca.
